Megan is a board-certified music therapist and licensed creative arts therapist (NY State) who has been working with children, adolescents, and adults in the medical setting and in private practice for the past six years. Megan uses a trauma-informed and client-centered approach with individuals and families working through a wide range of clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, mood disorders, and adjustment to a chronic or terminal illness.
Megan believes that all therapy begins with a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment. Megan gently meets clients where they are and offers music experiences, in conjunction with talk therapy, to promote a deeper connection to oneself and to others. Music calms the nervous system, restoring internal balance and providing a unique outlet for self-expression. Music therapy may be helpful for individuals who have difficulty expressing themselves in words, or for those who can easily talk about their issues but find that significant change is more challenging.
